Andrew Hacket is a second-grade teacher of 16 years with a master's degree in Elementary Education. Science and writing are his favorite subjects to teach. Andrew loves the joy that comes from children engaging in authentic, hands-on experiences as well as when they discover the power and fun of the written word. When he's not working with kids, Andrew is writing for them. Andrew writes picture books ranging in topic from big emotions to quirky wordplay. Janelle Harper is a Bronx native who enjoys storytelling through dance and writing. She is a veteran public school teacher who is dedicated to serving children in underserved communities. Janelle is passionate about stories that reflect the students she sees within her classroom. She is a strong believer that representation matters and strives to introduce stories that will make children fall more in love with themselves every time they open a book. Janelle is a member of SCBWI, Storyteller Academy, Julie Hedlund’s 12X12, and #BlackCreatorsInKidLit. Karen is a pre-k, special education and English as a second language (ESL) teacher with a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has taught in different countries in both public and private school settings. When not taking care of children, Karen writes fictional picture books about languages, cultures and social emotional learning with humor that hopefully make children do the snort laugh (her absolute favorite)!
